The SmartUsername plugin
The plugin does not send any data off your site and does not track anything. The rename log (old and new usernames, author slugs, user IDs and the time) is stored in your own database and is removed when you delete the plugin. The optional notification email is sent by your own site to the renamed user only. The Exposure check card links to the free Username Exposure Checker on digitalpritam.in; nothing is sent until you click that link.
SmartUsername Pro
Pro talks to smartusername.com to check its licence, deliver updates, run the outside exposure scan and build attack reports. It sends the licence key, the site address and versions, the public URLs to scan, one-way hashes of user logins (never the usernames) and report counts. We use this only to provide the service and keep it for as long as the licence is active.
This website
- No analytics, no ads, no tracking cookies. WordPress may set cookies only if you log in.
- Pro early-access list. If you join it, we store your email address and the page you joined from, to send you one email when Pro opens. We do not share or sell it.
- Fonts. Pages load the Inter and JetBrains Mono fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google’s servers, which receive your IP address.
- Hosting. The site runs on Hostinger. Like any web server, it keeps short-lived access logs for security.

To be removed from our lists, or to ask what we hold about you, email hello@smartusername.com. We delete it within 30 days.
